Wednesday was the funeral for Zac McDowell. It was one of the hardest funerals I have ever sat through. Zac was 26 and he left behind his wife and 2 year old son, Tucker. And as I sat there having a hard time singing praises in this time, I was amazed at the faith of his family. Namely, his wife Renee. They played a song by Jeremy Camp. Here are the lyrics.
Will I believe you when you sayDespite all she has been through in the last year, Renee was singing that song with everything the had. She was praising God on one of the worst days of her life. That is what a true relationship with Christ looks like. To trust Him even when the whole world is falling apart.
Your hand will guide my every way
Will I receive the words You say
Every moment of every day
Well I will walk by faith
Even when I cannot see
because this broken road
Prepares Your will for me
Help me to RID my endless fears
You've been so faithful for all my years
With the one breath You make me new
Your grace covers all I do
well i will walk by faith
even when i cannot see
because this broken road
prepares your will for me
Well I'm broken- but I still see Your face
Well You've spoken- pouring Your words of grace
Then, I got the pleasure of praying for Tori Gray today. Despite all the trying times Tori has been through, she maintains such a strong faith in God. She's going in for a double mastectomy on Tuesday and acts like it aint nothin' but a thang.
If you could, please remember to pray for these two families. Tori has 4 children, 1 with special needs. I'm sure both families would really appreciate your prayers.
